Ergonomics is a body of knowledge about human abilities, human limitations, and other human characteristics that are relevant to human habitation. My concept of Applied Ergonomics is the application of this body to tools, machines, systems, tasks, jobs, and environments for safe comfortable and effective human use.
In very general terms my main interest in research and development has been in domestic and construction environments.
My main focus centers on the ergonomics and safety of homes, tenements, offices, and commercial and construction environments.
I have undertaken social and engineering studies to observe behavioral patterns of people within domestic and construction environments. The outcome of this has enabled me to come up with revolutionary ergonomic products, which are being patented.
For the last decade, I worked in areas between Ottawa, Fort McMurray, Victoria, Northern Ontario James Bay and Vancouver BC on construction projects participating as a field researcher, to explore the human factors between pure design theory and actual construction practices. The outcome of this will be explained in a book and lectures.
